I began my internship with the Finance Team on 17th April, 2023 as a finance intern. During my first month, I got to understand the system, and I was able to relate well with my team members by asking questions about the profession and life generally. I did a lot of jottings on every single thing I learned. However, the jotting paid off; I was able to deliver the task assigned to me by my team without having to disturb them, but not all the time. My role in the team included reconciliation and daily data flushing, and I prepared monthly petty accounts.
My service experience also included getting to know some of my colleagues. Most of the staff here are older than me, which made it difficult for me to interact with some; however, I was able to learn from them even from afar. My fun time here was the Cultural Day activity. I got to see all of my colleagues, and it was like a family party that day.
However, my teammates had a lot of positive impacts on my life. They gave me an opportunity to learn and unlearn; they were never tired of my questions. I heard a lot of ‘Try it; if you don’t get it, I will explain again, and I was supported in my role.
DLM Capital Group provides a positive work environment that encompasses supportive and hardworking people and encourages them to grow. I was able to take on new challenges, I learned, and I grew along the way.
