FAQ's

What is the primary benefit of this investment opportunity?

This investment offers returns that are typically higher than what you would earn from a regular savings account, providing you with the potential for greater growth on your investment.

What is a “Unit Trust”?

A Unit Trust (or Mutual Fund) is a collective investment vehicle where multiple investors pool their funds, each sharing similar investment goals. These combined funds are then invested in a range of financial instruments, such as stocks, bonds, or other assets, and are managed by a professional Fund Manager. As an investor, you become a unit holder, meaning you own a portion of the fund. The units you hold grant you ownership rights, including a share of the income generated by the fund's investments.

What is the investment objective of the Money Market Fund?

The Fund aims to offer capital preservation, income, and liquidity for risk-averse investors. The Fund Manager works to achieve these goals while maintaining an acceptable level of investment risk.

How much can I invest in the Fund?

There is no maximum amount you can invest, however, the minimum initial investment is N10,000, while additional investments shall be amounts not less than N5,000 and in multiples of N5,000.

Who can invest in the DLM Money Market Fund?

The Fund is open to all types of investors. It is particularly appealing to those seeking a consistent income stream with a low risk tolerance. The Fund pays dividends on a quarterly basis. High-net-worth individuals with short-term cash reserves can also benefit from the Fund’s potential for higher returns. Institutional clients looking for liquidity, easy access to their funds, and competitive returns will find the Fund suitable as well. It is available to individuals (regardless of nationality), institutions, organizations, firms, societies, employee schemes, and more. The Fund also accepts investments from foreign and non-resident investors.

What will I receive as evidence of my investment in the Fund?

Each unit holder will receive an Electronic Fund Statement from the Fund Manager for the number of units purchased. These statements will be sent via email. Additionally, investors will have online access to their account. Physical copies of the Fund statement will also be available upon request.

Do I have a say in what you invest my money in?

No, the Fund has a predefined and approved allocation of funds across various asset categories. The Fund Manager applies their expertise to invest according to this approved asset allocation.

What is the minimum guaranteed rate of return?

The Fund cannot guarantee a specific rate of return, but it is expected to offer returns comparable to the high-end yields from fixed income instruments in the market. The return is influenced by prevailing interest rate trends in the financial market.

How can I access accrued income on my investment?

Dividends will be paid to all unit holders at the end of each calendar quarter. You can choose to either reinvest the dividend or have it directly credited to your account. Bank details must be provided when you initially purchase units in the Fund. If a client partially liquidates their investment before the end of a quarter, only the capital amount will be paid. The income earned up to the liquidation date will be distributed during the next quarterly payment. Only full liquidations before the end of a quarter will qualify for the full income.

Can I exit my investment at any time?

Yes, you can sell your investment to the Fund at any time. To do so, you will need to complete and sign the redemption form. This form can be submitted either to the Fund Manager’s office or via the email provided on the document. The redemption process will typically be completed within one business day of the Fund Manager receiving your signed redemption form.
